These are videos that I would LOVE to see but for various reasons will probably never get around to doing myself. If any of them inspires you, all I ask is that you please drop me a line to send me a link so I can watch it! :-)

Song: As Good as She
Sung by: Teal Thompson (on The Sentinel soundtrack)
Fandom: Profiler
Subject: Jill (Sharon Lescher) POV on Sam
Why: When I first bought this soundtrack, someone commented about how the lyrics of this song didn't really fit the Sentinel episode it was featured in, so I listened closely to the lyrics. They were right--the song doesn't really fit The Sentinel, but it really does fit Profiler's "Jill" and her jealousy of Jack's obsession with Sam--Jack made her over in Sam's image, but even then she still wasn't "good enough" for him. A twisted song for a glimpse into the mind of two twisted killers.

Song: At the Beginning
Sung by: Donna Lewis & Richard Marx
Fandom: Enterprise
Subject: Trip/Hoshi
Why: This song was suggested on a Trip/Hoshi soundtrack thread at the Linguistics Database, and ever since I've had it stuck in my head as the perfect song for them.

Song: Cold
Sung by: Matchbox 20
Fandom: Angel
Subject: Evil!Cordy, Angel POV
Why: I think this song would be a perfect Angel POV on Cordy from the time she first slept with Connor to when they figured out what was really going on. The confusion, the hurt, the anger is all there.

Song: Criminal
Sung by: Fiona Apple
Fandom: Angel
Subject: Faith/Wes
Why: WHY has no one ever done a Faith/Wesley video to this song??? I was listening to it recently and was just absolutely blown away by how well the lyrics: "I've been careless with a delicate man" and "I'm feeling like a criminal/and I need to be redeemed/to the one I've sinned against/because he's all I've ever known of love" could describe them--I mean, at the time of "Five by Five"/"Sanctuary," Wes *was* delicate, and of everyone on the show...who has Faith "sinned against" more than him? No one. It's perfect.

Song: The Difference
Sung by: Matchbox 20
Fandom: The Dead Zone
Subject: Johnny *letting go* of Sarah
Why: To me this song is about discovering that what you want isn't always the right thing, and letting go of it, which is what Johnny and Sarah *really* need to do once and for all on TDZ. And of course I'd put in Dana on the line "what you need," because I think she's good for Johnny. ;-)

Song: Downfall
Sung by: Matchbox 20
Fandom: Smallville
Subject: Lex/Lana
Why: I've noticed an interesting trend over my time in Smallville fandom, which is that while Chlex fic tends to show Chloe "saving" Lex, Lexana fic is almost always about Lex corrupting Lana. Now, admittedly she needs to be corrupted a little--*g*--but why can't it be both? Hence, my affection for this song as a Lexana tune.

Song: Feel
Sung by: Matchbox 20
Fandom: Angel
Subject: Wes/Faith
Why: This song has reminded me of these two ever since "Release" aired. It's got that same taunting, angry tone that Wes used with Faith when he was trying to goad her into crossing the line again, and while that scene ticked me off to no end, I still think it would make an awesome video. *g*

Song: Good for Me
Sung by: Amy Grant
Fandom: Mysterious Ways
Subject: Declan/Miranda
Why: This song really demonstrates how I would see a romance playing out between these characters, if it were to ever happen. He'd help her to be more spontaneous and she'd help him to look before he leaped a little more. They'd be good for each other. :-)

Song: Hand Me Down
Sung by: Matchbox 20
Fandom: Smallville
Subject: Chloe/Lex
Why: I'm not a Chlexer but this song really fits poor Chloe and how she's been sortof kept as Clark's back-up girl. Between him and the other guys she's dated, she has been treated by a hand me down and I'd love to see *someone* take her aside and say, "they didn't treat you how you deserve to be treated, but I will," which is what this song says. :-)

Song: Like a Surgeon
Sung by: "Weird Al" Yankovic
Fandom: either CSI, Crossing Jordan or M*A*S*H
Subject: cast/humor (or for M*A*S*H, Frank Burns)
Why: Of the three fandoms I mentioned, this one'd probably be most appropriate for M*A*S*H but I don't know anyone who vids that show and the other two could be funny as well. ;-) Call it gallows humor if you want, but I can honestly see it. 'Twould be interesting, you have to admit. *g*

Song: A Place Called Hope
Sung by: Michael English
Fandom: general Star Trek
Subject: Starfleet, the Federation, Trek's vision of the future in general
Why: Okay, so I know this song is about Heaven, and it's probably mildly blasphemous to apply it to anything else, but if you listen closely to the lyrics you *could* apply it to the Trek universe. And a nice tribute to a hopeful vision of humanity's future couldn't hurt--I'm sure God has a sense of humor. ;-)

Song: The Search is Over
Sung by: Survivor
Fandom: The X-Files
Subject: Doggett/Reyes
Why: As I've mentioned on other pages, I'm not a DRipper. Quite the opposite in fact. *g* But I know people who are and this song *is* appropriate if you take their relationship as romantic, so it would be sortof my gift to them. :-) Or your gift to them on my behalf. ;-)

Song: The Secret of Life
Sung by: Faith Hill
Fandom: Quantum Leap
Subject: Sam's Leaps
Why: Between the bartender named Sam, the mentions of Marilyn Monroe, and all the different "secrets of life" mentioned in the song, it always makes me think of QL. Okay, so the bartender in "Mirror Image" was named Al, but still...I'm picturing clips of him and that final episode interspersed with glimpses of all Sam's other Leaps could be a really nice tribute. :-)

Song: She's Always a Woman
Sung by: Billy Joel
Fandom: The X-Files
Subject: Marita, with definite Krycek/Marita overtones
Why: Call this a holdover from my Billy Joel song wallpaper series. This is the song I chose to represent Marita for those and I really think it does fit her, especially from Krycek's POV. :-)

Song: Still Holding Out for You
Sung by: SheDaisy
Fandom: The X-Files
Subject: Season 8 Scully, with MSR undertones
Why: I lost interest in the MSR when Doggett came on the scene, but like I said I'm not really an OTP type of girl. *g* I have friends who are still very much into this 'ship, so when I see songs that remind me of it I think how much they would enjoy a video and how much I would enjoy watching them enjoy it. *g* And I'm convinced the song is about a woman waiting for a lover who's in a coma--not a perfect analogy but close enough. *g*

Song: Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of
Sung by: U2
Fandom: The X-Files
Subject: Season 8/9 Scully, Doggett POV
Why: I love Scully, but by the time Season 9 came around I was incredibly frustrated with her. Her self-isolation was becoming a serious weakness that weakened her whole character but it took Mulder's "death" to get her to open up to anyone else, and as soon as he came back she was right back in her shell. This song to me expresses Doggett's frustration with Scully during those two seasons--he wants to be there for her, he wants to be her friend (or more, though he knows he'll never get that), but she won't let him.

Song: To Make You Feel My Love
Sung by: Bob Dylan, Billy Joel or Garth Brooks, your choice
Fandom: The X-Files
Subject: Doggett/Scully
Why: I think this song perfectly describes the depth of Doggett's devotion to Scully during S8 and at least the beginning of S9 (up to "John Doe"). Even though he knew she could never requite it, he loved her unconditionally and went to great lengths for her, even the length of risking his job to bring back the man she loved. I think this song would be a nice tribute to that.

Song: Unwell
Sung by: Matchbox 20
Fandom: The Dead Zone
Subject: Johnny
Why: The lyrics and the ironic tone of this song just make me think of Johnny, especially towards the beginning of the series when he's just starting to adjust to his new abilities and was just starting to get attention in the news. It could be a very fun video, especially with clips of Johnny's experience with that blood transfusion and the crowded bed scene from "Dinner With Dana." *snerk*

Song: Walk On
Sung by: U2
Fandom: Stargate SG-1
Subject: Daniel
Why: Daniel's character arc, especially during seasons 1-3 and 5-8 definitely brings this song to mind. Listen to the lyrics and you'll see what I mean.

Song: You'll Be In My Heart
Sung by: Phil Collins
Fandom: Lois and Clark or Smallville
Subject: The Kents, Lois/Clark
Why: I've always wanted to see this video interpreted the way it was in the movie it was written for, Disney's Tarzan, where the first verse and chorus were about the love between an adopted mother and child, and the second half about the love between two people of different worlds. And Lois and Clark is the perfect fandom for that (or Smallville Season 4), because Lois is the woman who gets Clark "now and forever." ;-)
